About OYATEC

OYATEC began in Dr. Hui Ouyang's clinic in Friendswood, Texas. He paired a TECAR deep-heat device with an herbal gel of his own and saw his patients recover sooner. OYATEC trains other licensed practitioners to give the same treatment and helps patients find them.

Our mission

What we're trying to do

We want anyone with muscle, joint or tendon pain to be able to get TECAR from a trained practitioner near where they live.

That means training practitioners well, holding every clinic to the same standard, and making clinics easy to find.

Founder and clinical lead

Dr. Hui Ouyang

Dr. Ouyang has treated patients in the Houston area for more than 25 years. He is a chiropractor, an acupuncturist and a Doctor of Oriental Medicine. Most of his patients come to him with sports injuries: pulled hamstrings, sore shoulders, knees that won't settle down.

Heat was always part of his work. He used hot packs, heat lamps and moxibustion, a traditional Chinese heat treatment. All of them warm the skin well, but little of that heat reaches the muscle, tendon or joint underneath, where the injury is.

TECAR reaches deeper. The device warms tissue from the inside, at the depth he chooses. He had already developed an herbal gel for his patients' sore muscles and joints. He began using it with TECAR in place of the plain gel the device normally uses.

He saw his patients move more freely after the first few sessions and finish their treatment sooner. Over time he used the combination for long-standing pain, for injuries from car accidents and for stiffness after strokes, and he saw similar results.

Other practitioners asked how he did it. He set up OYATEC to supply a device built to his specification and his herbal gel, and to teach his method in a short course.

Some of my patients didn't want to take pills, and some were afraid of needles. TECAR gave me a way to help both.

The OYATEC network

How the clinic network works

Every OYATEC clinic is independent and run by its own licensed practitioners. What they share is the training, the device, the gel and a listing on our map.

How patients, clinics and OYATEC connect. Patients: find a clinic on the map. OYATEC: training, device and gel.

Step by step

  1. 01

    Practitioners train with us

Licensed acupuncturists, physical therapists, chiropractors and massage therapists complete our 10-hour course before they can buy the system.

  2. 02

Their clinics go on the map

Each certified clinic appears on our clinic finder with its practitioners, the conditions it treats, hours and starting price.

  3. 03

Patients search by ZIP code and condition

A patient enters their location and what hurts, and sees the certified clinics nearby.

  4. 04

    The patient contacts the clinic

Appointment requests go straight to the clinic. The practitioner and patient take it from there.

  5. 05

Certificates are renewed every two years

Practitioners complete a continuing-education update to stay certified and stay on the map.

How we work

What we hold ourselves to

  • We sell only to licensed practitioners.

The OYATEC TECAR system goes only to acupuncturists, physical therapists, chiropractors and massage therapists who hold a current license and have passed our course.

  • We tell patients what TECAR can and can't do.

It eases pain and stiffness and helps tissue heal. It doesn't cure arthritis or undo a stroke, and we don't say it does.

  • Every patient is screened first.

Practitioners check every patient for reasons not to treat, such as a pacemaker or pregnancy, before the first session.

  • Every clinic follows the same method.

Certified clinics use the same device, the same gel and the same protocols, so a patient in Dallas gets the same care as one in Friendswood.

  • Certified practitioners renew every two years.

Each renewal includes a continuing-education update covering what we've learned since they trained.

Find a clinic or request a demo

Patients can search our map by ZIP code. Practitioners can request a demo and ask about the next course.
