What it is
Your knee carries your weight with every step, so it takes a lot of strain. Pain can come from the tendons around the kneecap, the ligaments at the sides, the cartilage inside, or the muscles above and below the joint.
People often describe a throbbing after a walk, pain going down stairs, or stiffness after sitting for a while.
How TECAR helps
- 1
The metal RET head reaches the tendons, ligaments and joint lining around the knee. A hot pack can't warm tissue that deep. The flat CET head warms the thigh and calf muscles that control the knee.
- 2
If your knee is freshly injured and swollen, your practitioner keeps the heat low or off. For pain you've had for months, they use more warmth to loosen the joint.
What to expect

- 15 to 25 minutes
- How often
- Twice a week to start
- What you'll feel
- Warmth inside the joint, not just on the skin
